Does frequent unpublishing of pages on a website affect search engine rankings?

Good afternoon!
On the site of climatic equipment, it happens that some series fail, some brands do not go or are out of stock.
Removing pages from publication through cms joomla, links to these pages give a 403 error. I need to understand how to do it right so as not to harm the ranking in search engines. Links that are no longer relevant still weigh in Yandex, and clicks on them lead only to a designed page with a 403 error. Is this a failure for search engines or a change in attitude towards a site that has a lot of links that are not working. Tell me what to do in such cases

I agree with the authors above.
It is better to use another solution to your problem.
- either display at the very end of the list of products in the category or in the filter / search results
- or not show in the navigation at all
- so that it is clear that the product is no longer for sale.
- display offers of current products that can be a worthy alternative to the current product. (in this way you will help the buyer with the choice of another model that will solve his problem)
It is better to modify them or switch to a CMS that has such functionality. In the long run, you will win many times over.
The main thing is to make sure that there are no links to non-existent pages on the site in the navigation. Because for PS it is very important that you have a high-quality and user-friendly site, whose navigation leads to existing pages. You can also make the 404 page more interesting. For example, show interesting offers, leave a feedback form (so that you can submit a request for information that was not found). As experience shows, visitors very actively use this form on 404 pages. If these recommendations are taken into account, then there will be no decrease in the ranking of the site. Because you are deleting product pages, which means that ranking by them is not important to you. And if you have other relevant pages of the site that are well-designed, then there will be no problems with them. Also verified by experience.
