Does Debian have CPU monitoring for the console, similar to the Windows Task Manager?

Are there utilities for monitoring CPU load in graph form (in text mode)?
There is functionality in htop (avg graph), but it doesn't work.
Monitoring is of interest per second and preferably in the console, I have 5 minutes (on munin).
