Do you need to read books on IT from beginning to end if you are going to be a system administrator's assistant?
Quite recently, the following question arose before me: is it necessary to read books on it to the end (from the first to the last chapter) or is it still worth focusing on what the employer requires of you. It's just that usually in the requirements of vacancies there is usually something like "knowledge of the tcp \ ip stack", "be able to explain what dns, dhcp are" and so on. That is, what is the best thing to do: read the whole book, or just take and read what you are most likely to be asked about when applying for a job.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

The best and right thing, in my opinion, is not so much to read a book as to do laboratory work - for example, deploy AD, DNS and DHCP. Together with this, the book will give a much better effect.
Theory without practice is useless, and even more so in the work of a system administrator.
