Do you need to buy an additional sfp module for Mikrotik Hex S?

And if you need to buy more, then what to look for?

Essence:
Prov delivers on optics. Their router is SNR RV6699 .
A fragment from its description:
this is an Optical Network Terminal terminal subscriber equipment operating on Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) technology and providing service for subscribers via optical fiber.

After it is my HEX (simple, without S). I want to replace these two routers with my own one. The choice fell on HEX S (well, or RB5009, although here RouterOS v7 is embarrassing).

In general, is it necessary to purchase an SFP module?

Yes, sfp is sold separately
. Will the provider make the appropriate settings for their optics for your hex? I don't think.
Put their "router" in bridge mode, turn everything up on Mikrotik. Then their router will act as an outlet simply

Needed, of course. And, not at all anyhow what SFP, it is best to consult in the Provo support, perhaps they will also sell SFP. Yes, it will be more expensive than on the side, but there will be a guarantee that the link will rise.

Need. And not simple, but an ONU module. https://mikrotik.com/product/SFPONU
But you need to configure in accordance with the parameters of the "head" from the provider. Usually they are reluctant to say these settings, only manually "roll up" the settings from the existing optical terminal and roll them onto the ONU module.
Even in this case, the chances that everything will start up are small, but you can try, if you don’t mind ~$100 for the module itself (hEX S is cheaper, if anything).
