Do I need to partition the disk myself when installing Ubuntu?

Hello, I want to install Kubuntu 18.04. Previously, did you choose to have the disk layout created automatically? Is this good practice? 1 SSD drive. Please give advice!

If you do not know what and why to change - leave the default. / and swap is suitable for most situations.

if necessary, then necessary.
if not needed, then unnecessary.

Do not skip the lessons of the Russian language and literature.

If it's itchy in the hands.
128MB - ESP if UEFI. If legacy / CSM, then a separate boot is not needed. grub even knows how to encrypt.
1GB - swap. Or by the size of the RAM, if hibernation is needed.
The rest is the system and data
And if the itch is completely wild, then you can even do LVM, but for UEFI you still need a separate partition outside of LVM.
Do not forget about the indentation of the first partition from the beginning of the disk in 2048 sectors, otherwise the bootloader will not fit.
