Do I need to install a video driver?

Hello.
There was a dispute with a colleague whether it is necessary to install a video driver from the video chip manufacturer on server operating systems (2008 R2 and newer), or is the standard microsoft driver enough?
Things like RemoteFX are naturally not used, the console is used only to restore the server in case of failure.
Also, did anyone have problems with the microsovt driver (freezes, bsods, etc.)?

Microsoft does not take drivers from somewhere out of the blue. The probability of bsod is the same as that of the device manufacturer (in most it is the same driver).
As for whether it is critical to have a video card driver on the server, I specifically think that it is NOT. The exception is servers with professional maps for rendering.

@oia

if they use the server only via rdp, then there is no point in installing the driver, rpd will use something like ConfigMGR Remote Control Driver

Here the question is what is more stable / with less problems. By Microsoft's driver, I mean the standard vga compatible driver.
