Differences between Windows Server 8, 12, 16?

I can’t find any normal information on WS, or rather about their differences.
I have not studied this area before, so I will ask you to answer as simply as possible.
Is there a difference on which system to start studying, or are their differences similar to regular Windows?

Windows Server 2008 - Retired from VLSC Company Portal.
Windows Server 2012 - Retired from VLSC Company Portal.
Windows Server 2016 - Available for purchase.

Windows Server 2008 - similar to Windows 7 with Win 95 styles
Windows Server 2012 - similar to Windows 8
Windows Server 2016 - similar to Windows 10
PS if there are serious differences and some things are more convenient, but if you are used to Windows Server 2003, then configure 2016 will be more difficult.
