Difference 1tb vs 2tb vs 4tb HDD?

What are the advantages, besides the volume, of a hard disk with a large volume (ceteris paribus)? Is it faster to search for information on a smaller HDD?

At such volumes, the volume is increased due to the plates, so the difference is insignificant. Though on more senior screws as a rule the cache is more. But in general, you need to look at comparisons.

No one wrote about the most important thing - the reliability of data storage . We all would like the MTBF to grow for large disks in proportion to their capacity (or even better - at a faster pace), but in real life it not only does not grow, but may even decrease. When such a disk crashes, the amount of data loss is so great that it can exceed the critical threshold of mental stability (there is an expression "it's a shame to snot", but here it will not be up to snot, but much cooler).
Over the past couple of years, I've crashed several large disks, and barely managed to save the intel. It's not so easy - the average user usually does not have a stash, where a spare two-terabyte battery is lying around for an emergency. And if there are discs, then they are in business, and working, bring their failure closer.
Now I made a promise to myselfwith a volume greater than 2 TB, do not mess with it . It is better to install several smaller HDDs than one large one.
