definition of sata2 and sata3

Is it possible to find out the operating mode of a SATA hard drive? For example, I doubt the SATA3 support of my laptop motherboard, and my hard drive is able to work on SATA3, so I wonder how it works in SATA3 mode or SATA2 backwards compatibility.
The specification of the laptop has information about the Intel HM65 chipset which supports 2 sata3 ports.

In general, I don’t think it’s worth worrying about sata II / sata 6 Gb / s
The throughput of the interface does not affect the performance of the screw in any way.
For this reason, when buying a terabyte screw, I took Samsung SpinPoint F3, although there were analogues with sata 3

What's the difference? Your SSD isn't quite up to the SATA II limit yet.
