Problem with changing the built-in SSD in ASUS UX32VDA
Bought ASUS UX32VDA Two 64GB SanDisk strips
are installed there in RAID 0 mode .
I expected to change this "crooked" SSD to my Intel-520 256GB - so the BIOS does not see it at point-blank range ...
In the BIOS, I changed the SATA mode from RAID to AHCI - it did not help.
I tried to install an HDD instead of an SSD
, on which I cloned my native laptop Win8 using Paragon Migrate OS - the result is the same :(... for 5V pins 3.3V is supplied

I decided to try to apply 5v on the mind. There is a jumper on the back of the motherboard, looks like an SMD component marked "0" in the photo. It just needs to be rearranged.
Everything works perfectly. It’s a pity that the mounts never fit a normal SSD, I had to screw up the metal casing that was on the original under-SSD to hold it. Or, as an option, glue on double-sided tape.

How is ASUS UX32VDA different from UX32VD?
I had a UX32VD, there was a regular hard drive connected to a regular SATA connector and a 32GB mSATA SSD bar.
Apparently there was no model with RAID then.
It seems you are trying to plug a normal SATA drive into an mSATA connector that normally doesn't have 5v.
VDA is the cheapest reincarnation of the UX32 - interestingly - the only one with a relatively full-fledged SSD. In the rest - SSD only for cache, and for HDD data. Well, the screen of the VDA is 1366x768, which for me is an advantage at 13".
Knowing that there are ordinary HDDs in the VD, I assumed that it would not be a problem to put my SSD in the VDA. I opened it - I was glad - a normal place and a normal SATA connector:
only instead of a disk - a board with two SSDs included in RAID0, as I understand it - just with mSATA connectors...
But my joy ended when none of my disks worked in this seemingly normal SATA connector on the board - not even an SSD neither HDD. Well, then it turned out that there is no 5V in it :(...
Well, ASUS and the creatures ... Well, the motherboard was mutilated - so that the cheap model would not be upgraded. They also shorted the 3.3V and 5V lines on this SATA -> 2mSATA adapter card - and I inserted it into another laptop - thank God, its BIOS does not support two SATA channels and the second disk was not seen. But for a while while I turned it on - 5V turned out to be closed to 3.3V. It is unlikely that the laptop would have lived so long ...
But there is no chance to make it work without BIOS support - right?
By the way, the board is still the same - there was a place for an SSD cache:
Is there a chance that this BIOS version switches the voltage to the SATA line 5V / 3.3V?
I wanted to check, but the flash utility from under the BIOS does not allow someone else to fill in :(...
