I am now engaged in the manufacture of an autonomous quadcopter, I am trying to achieve independent takeoff, altitude hold and landing. But it seems to me that it is necessary to come up with some kind of task for a household aircraft. But I had only 1 idea - a quadcopter for the rescue service: for example, someone got lost in the forest, and you asked him a map and he circled the forest using gps and looking for living creatures using a thermal imager, saw “something warm” - flew up, took a picture, sent it to the operator, what if it’s a bear or a volcano)
But it will be difficult to implement it, since the quadroplane will fly for 15 minutes maximum.
So I’m asking you, dear ones, maybe there were some ideas but didn’t get around to implementing it, what interesting, maybe everyday, task can you come up with for an autonomous quadrocopter?

By the way, for a long time I have been thinking in my head how to increase the carrying capacity and time of autonomous flight - why not “attach” something like a meteorological balloon filled with helium to the quadric. In fact, this will turn the quadric into an airship. You may also need to add pusher propellers, as on the same airship. Such a device can hover at a decent height and monitor a large area for a long time.

I dream of a quadric for shooting documentaries. For example, I am talking about tourist sites in the Leningrad Region, in particular, about the Koporye fortress. I need to load a map and a route around the object into the device, somehow explain the smooth change in the shooting angle. I’m not ready to send the Mark2 into flight, but some mirrorless compact with a wide width is fine, shooting a video from the same Nex is more than satisfied. In summary, I want a smooth flight, a programmable route and flight altitude, plus a return to base. I also thought about such a thing as Panic - in case I was spotted by the police or unwanted persons, we press the button and the device hurriedly disappears in an “unknown” direction :-)

It seems to me that it is more efficient to use gliders/airplanes for flying over the forest - they can fly longer, and vertical takeoff/landing is not required, there is a lot of room for maneuvers, it is also not necessary to hover over one place. Accordingly, copters are justified in a limited space, in a city.
