Copyrights when writing games?

People wrote to me that they want to make a game, but there are characters from a series of some movie.
I was wondering if I make such a game and put it on the network for sale, will I be torn by the copyright holder for using images, or do they still care?

Most likely it will break.
Licenses for the right to use characters are also part of their business.
