Computer and Cats. Do cats get jealous of your computer?

I recently got a cat...
I noticed that as soon as I sit down at the computer at home, my cat begins to show increased interest. He climbs, pushes his head, asks to stroke, tries to get between me and the keyboard ...

In principle, I understand that if you ignore it, it will pass by itself. BUT have you noticed similar behavior in your pets?

It is not necessary to ignore.
Why else would you get a cat at all? This is not a toy, it is alive, it has intelligence, feelings.
If you ignore it, it will attract attention with more and more brutal methods, up to damage to property.
Like all living things, she needs affection and attention. The younger, the more.
If you have enough time to play with her and communicate, then you can also do your own business calmly.
And because of the computer it is worth being distracted - to stroke, to say an affectionate word. And it will be better for you too :)

It's not jealousy. Just wants attention.
The situation is standard, but it depends on the cat - not everyone does this.

My cat, since childhood, has a habit of sleeping between the monitor and the keyboard. Considering that he has grown into such a healthy carcass, there is a suspicion that he is a cactus :D

My cat plays third characters with me. Hits enemy creatures with its paw. Since it hits slightly (touches more) and does not release its claws, I consider this a pleasant addition.

Do you live alone? If not, you can "blame" cat squeezing on other family members while you are at the computer.
I myself have two cats, I adore them, but I taught them that they are forbidden to enter my room: since I have some allergies to them, I try to make my room a territory of cleanliness - without their hair and saliva. There are also a lot of wires in this room, which they loved to tear as a child (they get new headphones, and I'm going for new ones). Even if the door to the room is open, the cats approach it and rest against an invisible wall, they do not go further.
If they need attention from me, they call me with a voice, sitting near the door, I go out, squeeze it well - I make it clear that I love them, let them go, and they go about their business, and I mine.
But my kittens are 3 years old, they are no longer small, while there are two of them - they can play with each other. If your cat is still small, you will have to make a sacrifice so as not to deprive her. If you can afford, get her a friend (although there are subtleties here too, they can become enemies).

Mine used to use her paw to turn off the surge protector when she wanted my attention.
That's partly why I bought UPS. It was a shame to be punished for this.

Cats don't get jealous anywhere. They're just checking to see if you're weak enough to finally be killed and eaten.

If a computer is mentioned in the text, then the question is about IT!

When I had a cat, it also always climbed on its knees between me and the keyboard, and if you pull out the shelf with the keyboard, it turned out to be under it and watched me from under it. Especially cool in winter - I printed, stroked, warmed my hands and continue to print xD

The cat treats the computer calmly. But when I lie down with an iPad... Sometimes I think he considers him such a strange flat cat :) Almost always he comes and tries to crawl between me and the screen. The iPad is removed and then the File swells with pride - frrr, drove the competitor away, oh well done!

And my girlfriend does this

For mine, this usually means that either he wants affection, or it’s corny to devour, and the second is more often :)

I have a cat and a Maine Coon cat ... the cat never did this, but when he was little he turned over glasses of water on the table trying to drink from them, the cat behaves exactly as the author described, if you stroke and remove it from the table, it’s enough somewhere on half an hour of freedom can then again come for the next portion of affection :)
as a cat owner with 20 years of experience, I can say that cats have both intellect and their own character, and feelings and very well developed intuition ...

My hamster liked to run around the keyboard when he let him walk around the table. He really liked to print ;)
Sometimes he showed interest in cables, especially in twisted pair.
