COM port controller with VmWare support?
We continue our dances
With the help of a saw, an ax and some kind of mother, we managed to install a hypervisor. And it even works - after the BIOS on the fucking "gaming miracle" was updated from A1 to A6.
But another problem arose. COM port. He is not.
I bought an inexpensive PCI-e controller. Orient XWT-PE2S . Put. Upsnik got it. I threw it into a virtual machine with a centos, where apcupsd is. Everything was configured a long time ago and worked flawlessly - I mean that there are no errors in the configs and cannot be.
apctest does not see the upsnik. There are only two ports on the card, I tried to specify /dev/char/serial/uart0 and uart1 in the machine settings, changed ttyS0 to ttyS1 in the apcupsd config - nothing happens. And what's strange - the BIOS of the fucking "gaming miracle" shows that the slot where I inserted the Orientation card is empty!
So there are actually two questions.
1. How to make sure that vmware saw COM ports? Is there lspci or its equivalent?
2. Do COM port PCIe controllers need any separate VmWare support? If so, are there any controllers with the necessary firewood?

There is also an opinion that there is com on the meter, but it is not soldered. And then the controllers squabble over resources. It is necessary to study in detail the bios of a miracle.
ls / dev
and look in dmesg for what and where it was determined + make sure that the cable you are connecting from this oops, if there are COM connectors on both sides of the cable, then make sure that one of them is not blurred as "oops side"
