Can the touchpad fail if it is not firmly fixed in the phone?

I change the touchpad for the first time (separately from the display).

So far, I haven’t glued it to the display, because I can’t verify its excellent performance.
The touchpad is buggy in a calm state, the wrong letters are entered on the keyboard that you click on.

If you press down on the touchpad, there is an immediate improvement, the accuracy improves, but there are areas where the glitch persists - around the edges of the touchpad.

Actually, if the touchpad is faulty, then sticking it on will be a big mistake.
Help me understand, please, is the problem in the touchpad itself or is it not glued yet?
