In the car tablet or GPS navigator?
Gentlemen, please share your real experience, so what is better to put a GPS navigator or a tablet with GPS in a car?
I read a lot of articles, but did not see reviews from real users.
Tablets: Samsung Galaxy Tab 10", Lenovo IdeaPad, Asus MemO or Acer Iconia
Apple has no money.

You can buy an OBD2 device for the tablet and use it as an on-board computer
What is the essential difference between them? Well, besides the fact that on navigators the operating system is usually cut down.
I can safely say that in the Nexus 7 the compass sensor is terribly stupid and the position of the cardinal points is determined in some unknown way when gps is started. Only if the tablet is provided with a strictly horizontal position, then the orientation shown will be closer to reality, but far from a fact. Plus, in motion and at an angle, the direction sensor tends to go astray.
Pluses of the tablet: usually it is already there. In addition, it will not be stolen (and the glass will not be broken) when you forget to remove it from the mount and put it in the glove compartment, as is usually the case with navigators.
I put the iPad mini in, everything works perfectly, there is nothing to complain about. I suspect that on any normal android tablet it will be the same.
Navigator with external antenna.
1. I think it's not worth commenting about the antenna
2. Automatic switched analog video input (s) for external cameras (for example, rear view).
I use the phone.
My friend drives with a small tablet, which is also a car media center, constantly connected to AUX and a cigarette lighter.
I used to have a navigator, I really didn’t like it, it turned on for a long time, traffic jams were buggy and worked intermittently, and slowed down in general, especially with good map detail. Indeed, he was weak.
