Can't create a bootable Ubuntu 12.10 USB stick?
I'm trying to create a bootable Ubuntu 12.10 USB stick. I downloaded the image from site, the checksums match. Recorded with the help recommended at the office. PenDrive Linux utility site.
When rebooting the machine and trying to boot from a flash drive, a black screen with a blinking cursor in the corner (it doesn’t reach the menu). Waited 10 minutes to no avail.
Tried:
- another flash drive;
- full formatting of the flash drive (both by system means and via PenDrive Linux);
- boot on two other machines.
In all cases, the outcome is exactly the same as described above.
I would be grateful if someone could help - I really want to try quantum quezal :)

try unetbootin (I tried it myself), the flash drive should be preferably > 8GB, if it doesn't help, download another version of the image
Run the installer from under the Administrator - and after a successful (whether?) installation, run to check if the bootloader is installed on the flash drive and whether the partition on the flash drive is the first (suddenly it has the number 1 or 2, not 0) using the Bootice program (for sometimes you have to run it as Administrator to run it correctly) bootice.narod.ru/ and, if necessary, manually roll Grub4dos onto it
