Why change? Genuine CBT-8 oil-based does not dry out at all. I dismantled a piece of iron from the 90s, with KPT-8 on transistors, still liquid.
Plus, even in the case of drying pastes, if you do not touch them, you do not need to change either. A layer of hardened thermal paste conducts heat just as well. Now, if you move it, an air gap is formed and the percent will overheat.

9590 on kpt-8 works fine, though overclocking is no longer pulling.
