Can I use card payment only through PayPal?

There was a question, I'm trying to make a payment on the site, with the possibility of paying by card in paypal, but every time I look at the documentation they say that it seems yes and it seems not, and they make a reference to their braintree partner, but braintree takes a commission and in the end it will be about 4 $ commission. If someone had connection experience, please indicate which part of the documentation to read, thanks!
