Can I install a Windows image for Parallels Desktop on an external HDD?

Is it possible to keep a Windows image for parallels desktop on an external drive? And the parallels itself on the same external drive?

images of virtual machines can be kept anywhere.
pd itself is automatically placed on the main disk and there is no point in transferring it to another one.
