Why doesn't Windows 7 see the monitor when connected via KVM?
There is a KVM-21UA device , a DNS-V2350 monitor and two computers are connected to it - a Lenovo ThinkPad T420 with Ubuntu 18.04 on board and a desktop with Windows 7. Everything is fine with Ubuntu - 1920X1080 (16: 9) determines. With Windows, however ... at first it determined no more than 1280x768, then I connected the monitor directly and wanted to set a larger resolution, but after switching to KVM when loading Windows, immediately after the loading bar, it gives Not supported . I connect directly - it still does not see, I reboot - everything is fine. I switch back to KVM - everything is fine, but after a reboot again Not supported .

It was not the OS, but the VGA cable - when swapping cables in Win7, the higher resolution applied fine. In Ubuntu, I already manually added and adjusted it, although it also did not display above 1024x768 in the settings.
I have a KVM TRENDNet TK-409K for 6k at work and it regularly performs.
Permission may fall off and this is also treated by rebooting, and sometimes only by shutting down.
So my bet is on KVM
