Can I have multiple active contracts open on Upwork?

My client, due to a lack of budget, asked to suspend work, but the contract itself (40 hours a week) did not pause. Now a new contract with another customer is pecking. The question is, will upwork allow you to have two 40 hour contracts open at the same time? Or do I need to ask the first client to pause the contract?

No problem, you can have several open contracts for any number of hours. It is not necessary to ask.
