I want to buy a monitor and send it immediately for calibration / profiling to the company. The firm says that "practically" anyone can.
What is meant by "practically" could not be clearly explained.
If not any, then what should you pay attention to first of all?

Any monitor can be calibrated, but for many monitors it is simply pointless due to their design and purpose. A monitor with an 18-bit "office" matrix, for example, is simply unable to display 24-bit color.
