Building firmware for various devices (tablets, routers, etc.) based on linux with your own hands. How to do it?

Hello. Does anyone have experience building their own Linux-based firmware version for devices: tablets, mobile phones, routers, etc. I will be glad of any help, I have even better manuals in this direction. Thanks in advance!

First you need to know what is the kernel assembly

I don't quite agree with Denis Michurin ,
it's not entirely clear what ks312 wants from the new firmware, so it's enough to use something like OpenWRT or DD-WRT. If you need a specific kernel, then of course you should read additional literature, but in principle, documentation for a particular assembly system is enough.

I once collected OpenWRT firmware for Debian. It all came down to copy-paste commands from the manual or the official site.
