Books on the basics of programming / on the essence of programming?

Please tell me the optimal set of books on programming, thanks to which I will understand how it all works.
I would like books not tied to any programming language. PS I want to understand all the basics, what all these terms mean (and how they work), such as: strict and dynamic typing (what is it in general: D), OOP, MVC, reflective jap, interpreted jap, etc. I don't understand anything at all, I want to fix it.
