Best way to backup large Debian directories
Hello everyone, I am learning the basics of server administration, namely the management of a web server based on Debian OS. I figured out the database backup, but now the question is how best to make backups of directories with sites. On average, each directory takes from 10MB to 3GB, the latter grows monthly by 100MB on average. I want to make backups once a week to a separate site directory, while keeping the last 5 copies. IMHO, for this kind of backups, rsnapshot is the best option.
+:
* simple setup
* there are full backups for each moment of backup removal
* all together full backups do not take up much space (assuming that most files do not change), achieved through the use of hard links
* minimum software requirement (rsync + ssh + futentification by keys)
-:
* if there is a jamb with rights (for example, they set a read-only directory), then the backup will fail. the use of utilities other than rm is solved (for example, rmtree, which does not suffer from this problem, is specified in the config)
