There is a good free and open source program (not an extension): Zint . Barcodes will have to be inserted as pictures in an Excel spreadsheet. And I didn’t see any free extensions, only paid ones.
The solution is something like this (for generally accepted codes, such as EAN-9, like this)
1) we find the font barcode or barcode-9 / code 9
2) we surround the sequence that we want to write to the barcode with asterisks (*)
That is:
We want to write habrahabr into the barcode
We write
*habrahabr*
and draw output with barcode font
