Are there internship opportunities for a near-know-nothing 1st year student in the US/Canada during the summer holidays?

There is an opportunity to go to the USA (East coast), and I would like to spend this time "not in vain". But what can a first-year student who has not been to hackathons and others do? Only theoretical assignments, from "practice" - a windowed coursework application that will never be used. So there is no chance of an internship in big companies.
Is it even possible to find an internship for a (under) student in Software engineering?
Univer, of course, with a name, but it is unlikely to give anything. English available

Monitor the exchanges for the search for interns, exchanges internal US offcorz) Maybe someone will answer positively. But I’ll say right away that most likely you will perform routine tasks, up to “bring coffee”)
