Are there free APIs on the current topic, COVID-19 and how to make such a map?

Good evening! I decided to modify the landing page found on the Internet. There is such a block. (see screenshot below).
It is clear that this is just a picture showing the most infected cities. I want to find an API and insert a map there. On which, when hovering over a country, it would show the statistics of the infected. So I understand this is done through an iframe?!

Plus, I want to do the next block in the same way, as in the picture. Only with real data. So I understand it will be the same API as for the map. That is, a block slide in which the country and the number of infected are indicated by the flag. In general, it will be really cool if you can make it so that if you hover over a country in the block slide, this country would be displayed on the map on the left. Is it realistic to implement?

Since I previously made up only simple sites, and I am implementing such ideas for the first time, I would be glad to receive information on how it is done, what tools and what APIs are used.

The project has no financial background, but will only go to the portfolio. as a pilot project.
