Why low FPS on Ubuntu 16.04 VM?

Windows 7 + virtualka Ubuntu 16.04 via VirtualBox
Memory allocated 5GB (out of 16GB of RAM), maximum video memory (128MB).
2 processor cores (I have 2 in total)
Pentium G3420 3.2Ghz processor from the time of dinosaurs GTX
1050 1Gb video card

sensations of 40-45 fps, which is not very comfortable for the eyes.
I dug into the settings for shadows, translucency and other "buns", tried to turn it off, but did not notice much effect.

Tell me who actively uses virtual machines, what settings affect performance? Precisely affecting the FPS on the Ubuntu desktop.
I have everything rested on the processor? And for comfortable work you need at least 4-6-8 cores?
Is it possible to somehow allocate more video memory than 128MB?

The function does not cut anything - it sets the top offset of the element (css-property top) to 5 times less than the scroll, in order to achieve the parallax effect (this, in fact, is easy to understand from the name of the function).
Well, we can help correct it only if you post a demo on jsfiddle.

Try installing compiz and dependencies, and switch it. Compiz works fine under virtual machine...

I'm very late with the answer, but I myself had the same problem with Ubuntu 21.10 (felt like FPS was 15-20) and while searching for an answer I came across your question.
For the same seekers, I write: the solution was to work in the hyper-v extended session mode.
To enable it, you need to execute a certain script in ubunt itself + enable this mode in the hyper-v host + enable it for a specific VM via powershell.
After that, the entrance to the guest OS became possible through xrdp, where everything works with good FPS.
