Are sites blocked in hosts still available?
In windows, I wrote the following in hosts: 0.0.0.0 site.com . And even tried 127.0.0.1 site.com . Did ipconfig /flushdns. And I checked in private mode. But site.com still opens. Everything is opened, no matter what I enter there. Although this happened on other machines - the site was blocked. What could be wrong here?
upd.: pinged with the address that was registered in hosts.

What is it about DoH ? Is it not included? Also extensions a la "vpn" is not worth it?
There may not be many things here. Firstly, you need to make entries correctly in hosts (if you decide to use this method). Checking syntax means. Secondly, a ping site.com check should return ip 127.0.0.1; if this does not happen, then hosts does not work for some reason. Requests from the system bypass it. You need to understand why.
Except ping site.com
, nslookup site.com
should not give out IP4.
all browsers also opensThe browser is auto-completed to
www.site.com
, which must be blocked separately.
