Apple laptop keyboard engraving?

I heard different things from different people, but still I want to know the truth - if you make a laser engraving of the keyboard, will the “new” letters be highlighted when the keyboard backlight is on?
And is it even worth doing it at all - I type in Russian with 10 fingers using a blind method? I just don't want to disfigure the laptop keyboard if the backlight doesn't work.

I did such an engraving in the summer in Minsk, I was very pleased.
The resolution of their machine, when viewed under a magnifying glass, is slightly different from the original (the jagged edge of the signs), but in practice this is not visible at all. As I understand it, the laser burns out the paint, which blocks the light coming from the backlight, and the letter is highlighted with the same brightness as the original. The font is also very similar to the original. The only point is that on some samples I saw some sliding of the distance from the Russian letter to the edge of the key when moving from left to right, as if the laptop was unevenly fixed to the snap. I drew the engraver's attention to this, he did not answer anything intelligibly, but both laptops - Pro and Air - engraved without this jamb. For six months of work, the edges of Russian beeches are as even as in the original ones.
I type without looking at the keyboard, but when relearning the Mac layout (punctuation marks) it can be useful.

Why engrave and highlight if you are typing blindly?

Saw engraved fully illuminated.
"The customer cannot choose the color of the applied characters to maintain the factory backlight." from a site offering an engraving service.

That's the answer to your question. Different people do it differently.

I did the engraving on the old MBP 17" 2006, on the new Air (end of 2011). The letters are highlighted here and there. On the Air, you can't distinguish it from the original at all.

Take and call the companies that do the engraving and they will tell you who and how they do it.

When I took it, I thought that I would need it. We did everything carefully, only the location of the characters on the buttons and enter is different. As a result, a week later I realized that I don’t look at the clave at all, so I won’t do engraving on the next one.

I have been professionally engraving macbooks in Moscow for 6 years. I do the engraving with the original apple font, the backlight is perfect. I can also "burn out" any layout in any language, an inscription on a space or body.

Yes, everything remains highlighted and looks quite "civilized". If you know what I mean. But we are talking about laser engraving, and not about any other. In Rostov-on-Don, guys from the Laser Engraving Studio www.rostovlaser.ru do this professionally
