Advise on how to deal with infringement of intellectual property rights

The essence of the problem is simple - there is an author of books and his books have crawled on the Internet. When asked to remove links from the resource, they are asked to confirm that the author is not a camel. What are the options for punishing these people? Does it make sense to start a lawsuit with them?

IMHO, send an official request on paper with a seal and a return receipt, and then go to court. Only the demand must be legally competent, without Robin Hoods and jokes.
It probably won't make it to court.
And threats by email are often sent by some pioneer extortionists, so the reaction to them is appropriate.

I know this site is filled with users. By law, for example, many books are “closed by the copyright holder” - moreover, the authors from my institute. Apparently if it's okay to write a complaint, then everything will be deleted. I think that if the author of the published book is "Pupkin", then it is possible that Pupkin's ID will be enough.
