Acquaintance with microcontrollers, where to start?

Hello! After seeing thousands of ideas on the Internet, like a smart home, quadcopter, etc. I really wanted to start doing these things, but a bunch of questions arose:
1) As you understand, the microcontroller is the same computer, only smaller? Is this the heart of any device?
2) What power is the average MK designed for? Is 1 average MK enough, for example, to create the same smart home?
3) Where should parts be ordered from? Cost plays a secondary role, the main thing is reliability and speed of delivery
4) Programmer for MK, opt-in-china.ru/product/usb-avr-programmator/ how do you work with it?
5) Are parts for arduino and MK universal? For example, the arduino module will be able to work with MK and vice versa? masterkit.ru/shop/arduino/shields/1930954it says here that it is for arduino, but can it be connected to the MK?
6) On the same site, where to read about these exits? TXD, REST, ADC, RXD and the like, what exactly are they for?mp8266_2.JPG

here easyelectronics.ru The man writes cool. There are courses for both avr and arm. and also on the basics of electronics in general.

It is better to buy such a scarf, there is the MK itself, the necessary strapping and an in-circuit debugger.

If you know how to solder and are familiar with radio electronics, then you buy an atmega-type MC and try to blink a diode on it, control a stepper motor, read data from the sensor and transfer it to a computer.
If you don't know how, buy some kind of arduino (uno, mega) and do the same on it. The rest will come in the process

1) As you understand, the microcontroller is the same computer, only smaller?
Yes, a single-chip computer.
2) What power is the average MK designed for?
Average - the concept is VERY extensible (thousands of times in terms of frequency, memory, and performance). Enough, however.
3) Where should parts be ordered from? Cost plays a secondary role, the main thing is reliability and speed of delivery
At a local store, but be aware that prices will be 10 times higher.
Start by buying an arduino (the most popular kit for beginners), a breadboard with jumpers, and a couple of popular shields for it.
