Well, a very simple template is needed, actually! Preferably free, of course, but if the price is reasonable, then I'm ready to consider a paid one. Clarification: The template must be available in the themes section of the WP admin.
In general, you need a minimalistic template for a blog:
Basic design parameters:
1) The main feed with entries should NOT be too wide - 600-800px is just right, give or take.
2) The second column is strictly to the right (where the search is, tag clouds and other widgets), and that's it, so that there are no more columns.
3) A laconic header, NOT full-screen (can be full width, but not the height of the screen): picture, blog title, description; but NOT abbreviated (when everything is hidden in a hamburger).
4) Neither the header nor the auxiliary column should be fixed, everything should scroll.
5) Blog posts on the page should be classically laid out: title, text, title, text, strictly one after the other (not left-right of each other, not thumbnails with an excerpt, not a list of titles, not tiles, not sections)
6) Blog entries on the pages should have the following in exactly the same order: first the title, below it the full text with pictures (without cuts), and AFTER the text, in any order, - tags, comments (required !!!), post date .
7) Blog post images should be the same width as the text column.
8) All text styles must be editable so that you can change the font and size at least.
9) The size of the tags in the tag cloud should vary depending on the frequency of occurrence in the blog, that is, I do not need a list of one-sized tags.
10) Classic neutral but contrasting colors, no gypsy circus and barely visible gray text. Black, white, grey. Links-buttons - do not care, you can use any color.
11) Optional, but I really really want: the number of views, the like button and the number of likes. It is possible with dislikes.

It seems simple, isn't it? Although I painted everything in such detail, but in reality this is the simplest design. The best that I found for such requirements is the Independent Publisher 2 template. But it has disadvantages:
- You can only edit the font of the post - I do it through the Easy Google Fonts plugin, it seems like you can change all styles, but in reality it only changes the font of the main text, headings and everything else does not change even to a banal arial or other system fonts.
- You can put a picture and an avatar in the header. You can't turn off the avatar. And I don't need it. It turns out that if you upload a picture, then under it there will be an empty avatar. So I uploaded the damn avatar and disabled the picture.
- No views, likes/dislikes

And that's it. The rest have some strange or pretentious layout from the category of "we need to make the design more interesting." And I was generally surprised, for the first time I see (in 18 years of sitting on the Internet) that the headings were shifted, I don’t understand where relative to the main text, tags and comments can be anywhere at all - above the heading, under the heading, to the left of the text, absent altogether, but only pancake not where they should be - just below the text. No, well, there are such patterns, but everything else in them is bad.

Hello!
I would recommend that you take a regular bootstrap or a ready-made bootstrap theme (starter pack) and create a theme from scratch according to your requirements. So you will always achieve the desired result.
