Write-protected flash drive
Do they make these now?
I remember that almost all flash drives used to have a record switch. I want one for myself, because I often have to stick it somewhere, and then clean it from viruses.
Alternatively, you can format it in NTFS and set access rights, but this does not suit me - I have to read and write not only from Windows.

Not so long ago I bought myself a QUMO Yin & Yan flash drive. She's so protective. Look around, they might still be on sale.
My old mp3 flash player TEXET has such a record switch :D there it is a blocker for the buttons on the player, but at the same time it prohibits recording :D
As an option that will work: take an SD card (they have a write protection switch) and a simple little card reader.
PQI Cool Drive U339 with write protection. worked for a year, began to glitch. Reading and writing is tolerable but could be faster.
I don't know about "produced". But it seems that there are programs that protect against writing / deleting. The other day I came across a flash drive that could only be read under both Windows and Ubuntu.
And it seems like there is a program that allows you to programmatically change in the controller in a flash drive - whether you can write there or not ...
buy an SD card reader and SD flash - they still make a write protection switch on them :)
yandex-market gave only this :

As an option, just fill up all the free space with garbage, then there will be a bummer with the recording.
If you’re too lazy to do it with your hands, then here’s some kind of utility for this:

ntfs also works under linux, why doesn't it suit you? Or any tricky gadgets?
There is a good program for blocking autorun viruses from entering a flash drive - Panda USB Vaccine . It can “vaccinate” both the flash drive itself (FAT / NTFS) and the computer. True, it will not save exe's on a flash drive from infection, so this is not quite a replacement for the write protection switch. But it can be attached to any flash drive.
