Workplace on multiple computers?

I am tormented by one thought:

  • Let's say I have a server and let's say it's very powerful. Or a stand.
  • There is a WiFi network and wired 1Gbps.
  • A few laptops, a couple of tablets and a few nettops

And now the question itself: how to make the user automatically synchronize?
I explain: you sit at the laptop, you work. Turned it off, went to another building, turned on the nettop there and continued to work on.
I have considered options:
  1. We work through a remote desktop. Well, there are a lot of minuses, for example, you can’t play with toys. Although the main disadvantage is that if you leave, then everything stays at home (do not offer to work through the Internet).
  2. We synchronize the user folder, in extreme cases, the entire screw (without the Windows folder). But if there are a lot of changes or it doesn’t have time to update, glitches will start (file from there, file from here)

I heard in Windows 8 you can transfer the working environment to a USB flash drive. As I understand it, you insert a USB flash drive and your desktop is loaded. But I did not find how to do this (more precisely, I did not look for it). I have the Developer Preview. I'll put Beta on the weekend and take a look there.

In Windows 7, loading from vhd is possible - you can still experiment in this way.
And by the way, where did you get 1Gbps Wifi?! I mean what kind of equipment
