Working as a self-employed on Upwork 2020?
In connection with the expansion of the application of the law on self-employment throughout the country since the beginning of the year, I think this topic can be updated. Has anyone already started the transition? Or if someone already has experience with this system with/without IP, you can share it here.
A bank account, as I understand it, does not matter, because you need to go through currency control.
There is also a question about currency. Let's say I received the currency and on the same day wrote down the amount converted into rubles in the application. But what if I'm going to keep it in my account and withdraw it later at a better rate? Then the income in rubles is different. How does the law deal with this?

You are mixing everything together. There are not so many articles about the self-employed and Upwork. This is still a new topic.
IP + Upwork and currency control are painted up and down, incl. here on the toaster this question was asked many times and everything was painted in detail. Look.
The currency is taken into account in taxes at the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on the day of receipt to the transit account.
Also, at the time of exchanging dollars for rubles, if you exchanged at a rate higher than the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, then you receive income from the exchange rate difference, from which you also need to pay tax.
These questions have already been discussed, and so far there is no clear clarity:
Self-employed and Upwork?
Working on Upwork as a self-employed person. Real or not?
And here it is also important to note that you should not confuse currency control for individual entrepreneurs and the work of the self-employed.
There are no restrictions on the acceptance of currency for the self-employed in the law. The "my tax" app lists "foreign company" as the source of income.
That is, there is no ban on accepting foreign currency, but it is not yet clear how banks will react in practice. Although some people in the topic at the link wrote that they work this way.
How does the law deal with this?
Haven't encountered similar problems. It is better to transfer first to PayPal and then to the bank.
