Working after the contract, outside of upwork is a violation?

There was an order for tasks for the site, through an intermediary, there was an upwork contract with him, later the intermediary decided to retire and connected directly, completing the contract, for some time there was silence and discussion of further work through payoneer (it is not a violation since the client is different) , but suddenly they wanted to return the intermediary and work outside the exchange through him. What to do in this case? Agree or not?

In fact, any such thing is an eternal ban on upwork, taking into account the fact that after 10k bucks upwork takes only five percent of the commission, I would continue there, well, unless of course this is not a dream job for half a life

As rightly said, this is a ban.
And Upwork keeps track of messages when you exchange contacts in a chat. Therefore, you just need to be careful, not give reasons for suspicion and work outside the exchange only with old proven clients.
I personally manage several off-exchange clients myself. Everything is great. And it is beneficial to both parties.
