Windows XP - file server connection problem, how to solve?
There is a PC with Windows XP SP3.
Today he had a problem - he does not connect to the file server on Windows 2012r2.
Reason: no ping to the file server, but there is a ping to other servers and workstations. Other users don't have this problem. At the same time, the computer received DHCP from the same inaccessible server in the morning.
Checked:
1) Moved to another location, ruled out physical connection problems;
2) Replacing the network card did not help;
3) Static IP did not help, disabling the antivirus and firewall did not help either
4) sfc /scannow - did not find any problems
What else can be done in this situation?

Look in hosts, what's going on there? You can clear the dns cache ipconfig /flushdns, you can reset the tcp ip settings via netsh int ip reset.
On other computers, too, XP?
Only stupid steps come to mind:
0. Log in as a different User, Domain admin, etc.
1. Roll back XP on the problem computer to a restore point
2. Throw in the HDD and put XP clean. A lot of time has been spent - maybe it will be easier to reinstall the software after Winda and transfer the profile?
It's a difficult case, hardly anyone will immediately guess what the problem is. I suppose you should use tcpdump on the problem machine and from outside it to look at the network traffic from / to the server, compare and try to find an anomaly.
