Windows on a flash drive?
I have a 64 GB flash drive, can I install Windu / another OS / Macos on it (so that when I stick it into the computer, the OS is loaded from it, but the files that I create on the flash drive / on the main disk are not lost? And I want to do this with a hard drive with a usb adapter.

Perhaps, moreover, several systems and even under UEFI and BIOS at the same time. The only thing that will be problems with the bootloader (the grub config is updated automatically for either UEFI or BIOS).
upd: for Windows there is WinNTSetup (it allows you to install everything and everywhere) and Hasleo WinToUSB
It seems that Windows requires a separate USB flash drive, that is, you cannot write other files to it.
If the USB Gen3 port will work. The flash drive must be of the current standard. On standard flash drives will not work. In order to register the Booth sector, you need to do tricks and the speed will be abnormal.
I don’t advise using old or slow flash drives for Windows To Go, I tried it myself, the installation took 9 hours, and I didn’t even manage to start Windows from a flash drive, most likely it’s possible, but I waited 12 hours and didn’t wait ..
