Windows disappear in mac os when working with an external monitor, how to fix?

I work on a macbook with an external monitor connected, it very often happens that when a program (for example, Photoshop) wants to show a pop-up window, this window is shown in some kind of dead zone, which makes it impossible to interact with it and mission control does not help. You generally have to restart the program. It works adequately when the program is on the main monitor of the macbook itself, but this does not suit me, it is inconvenient.
Has anyone come up with a way to beat this?
