Windows Defender - is it good?

What about Windows Defender in Windows 8? How does he do his job? Is it suitable for a private company with 10-20 users? Is it suitable for a computer where money is spinning?

Is it suitable for a computer where money is spinning?
- the sanity and responsibility of the accountant working behind this computer will be more important than an antivirus.
Defender is a normal antivirus. Of course, its competitors are other free antivirus programs. For example, Kaspersky Free is more functional, but it also consumes more resources, traditionally.
In any case, the firewall should be fenced off, it should cut off most of the muck from the Internet, antivirus programs are already the second line of defense.

Almost all free antiviruses of the "watchman" class are approximately equal in efficiency, since when creating them, the authors use approximately the same test sets of viruses (we will not discuss antiviruses of the "detective" class here, they have a different scope). Replenishment of virus databases for all of them also occurs in approximately the same way (according to rumors, they even share fresh signatures with fellow competitors).
"Windows Defender" is no worse and no better than other "watchmen", with the exception of one factor - it is believed that it is better integrated into the OS, so it strains the computer less. And I will add to this that, unlike all kinds of Avasts, it also bothers the user less.
