Do you need an antivirus?

It seems that I have always heard that Linux is the most virus-protected OS. Does it make sense to put some kind of antivirus? If so, which one? On Windows, I didn’t use anything ... But basically I always preferred Kaspersky and Dr. Web.

Linux computers have a device that is entirely responsible for security - a gasket between the chair and the monitor. You just don’t need to install software from anywhere and enter incomprehensible commands into the terminal, it’s not for nothing that they ask you to enter a password for each sneeze.

Compile the virus manually, install dependencies to make it work :)
Although, I think it's possible. Well, for example - if you install in the browser which thread the left plugin ala - "Download music from everywhere" - and it will gladly send your data that you entered in the browser to whoever needs it.

Antiviruses are not needed, but not because it is a super secure system, but because a few miserable percentages of Linux on the desktop (and bearded virgins) are not yet a very interesting target audience for virus authors.

In Linux, with this case, it's like in that movie
