Windows 7 won't install on Asus K50In laptop
Hello!
There was an unexpected problem for me with the installation of Windows 7 (64-bit, ultimate, SP1).
I have an Asus K50IN laptop. I decided to upgrade and reinstall the OS.
Technical description
0. Laptop model - Asus K50IN
1. Added a second RAM module: Kingston HP 497772 HR2 ELF 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400S (Kingston Asus 256X64D2S800C6 2GB 2Rx8 PC2-6400S was supplied by the manufacturer). The BIOS sees a total of 4GB of memory.
2. Replaced the hard drive with a WD Original SATA III 750GB (7200 rpm, before that it was 250GB and 5400 rpm)
Description of the problem
1. Installed Windows 7 both from a USB flash drive and from a CD. The error is the same:
"Windows installation cannot be performed to this location. Error 0x80300024".
2. Installed Linux Ubuntu. It also throws an error.
3. I don't know how important this is, but Compatible is set in the BIOS IDE. Tried both with this option and with Enhanced.
4. The BIOS itself sees the disk, it also recognizes it when installing Windows.
Question :
1. What needs to be done to install the OS?
PS On the new HDD (WD Original SATA III 750GB) on the back cover there is the following inscription:
"*Windows XP, multi partition and cloning software users - use WD Align software avaelable on www.wdc.com/advformat
*All other OS configurations - drive is ready to use as is."
PPS If the WD Align utility is still required, someone can throw it here. Torrents from the school computer are blocked, all services for downloading such as Deposit, Letitbit are also closed even for viewing.
I understand that before you install the OS, you also need to use the WD Align utility. How to do it on a fresh disk and is it necessary at all?
On the advice of one of the members of the forum, when installing the seven through the command line (Shift + F10) -> list disk, check if there is a disk, but it does not appear there. The flash drive is recognized, but the HDD is not.

...when installing the seven through the command line (Shift + F10).
Opening a command prompt, run the DISKPART utility:
D:\> Diskpart
D:\> List disk (list disks, make sure you have only one disk)
D:\> Sel disk 0 (select this single disk)
D:\> List part (listing partitions)
D:\> Clean (destroying all partitions on the selected hard drive)
D:\> Exit (exiting the DISKPART utility)
Then return to the Windows installer, in which you click "Update".
Then click the inscription "Disk Setup", create a partition of the size you need and continue with the installation.
