Win8.1 SL touch screen not working, what should I do?
Well, then, the story is this:
I turn on the tablet, I find that the touch screen does not respond. I quickly surf the whole thing on the Internet and find a sea of advice about this and that. As a result, the removal of the latest updates helps, which was not even advised. Voila, everything works.
On the second morning (today) the same song, but there were no updates. In the end, out of desperation, I rolled back the system (did not help) and made a full recovery of it. Fuck it, the sensors still don't want to work.
I found 4 more of the same poor fellows on the Microsoft Community forum, who have identical situations. Someone found a solution with a rollback, someone just sits with the mouse.
In general, the question is: What else can you try with a tablet to revive the touch screen?

It looks like the sensor just died.
I had something similar on my phone. After Off-On, the sensor came to life for a couple of minutes, then stopped responding again. (As you do after the rollback of updates with a reboot) Then he stopped coming to life. Helped with a warranty repair.
