Will Xcode run on Macbook 7.1 (2010)?

This is a white MacBook, quite old, but it works. I will be taking a course on Objective-C and then Swift. I now have this old machine - Macbook 7.1 2010 with Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz 64bit, with 2GB of memory and 256MB of video, and a leopard OS.

Question: 1) if I upgrade the hardware to 8GB ddr3 1666mhz and install a hard SSD, and also upgrade the OS, will Xcode work? Will this be enough to start (training and development) until I buy a new firmware 13 (as soon as possible)?

2) I met recommendations that the latest versions can slow down on older poppies, if so, which version would you recommend installing?

Thank you in advance.

A friend is running a more or less latest version of Mac OS X on a 2008 iMac, they added RAM up to 8 GB and installed Fusion Drive, also Core 2 Duo

I have been working for about a year on a completely identical poppy, but of course with an SSD and 10G of RAM.
Everything is in order, sometimes it hangs on the swift, but it is fatal.

I myself am sitting on MBP 13 2010. I also want to update the old man. Does it make sense to put 8GB RAM?

Eugene, if you can find a suitable RAM, then it's worth it. I myself am sitting on MBP 13 2010 with 6GB, I changed one bar from 2 to 4GB in 2012. Now the "popular" RAM does not start on it. Recently updated to OS X 10.11.3 and parallel to Win 10, nothing slows down (SSD). Only it is necessary to put on a disk with a breakdown of the MBR. If you find a suitable RAM, please unsubscribe here. Perhaps 16GB will start, since 10GB is available from Andrey Mamchenko .
