Hello!

We have iPhone5. Recently, probably due to the lack of free memory, he glitched, all contacts, sms flew off, photos disappeared (although the amount of occupied memory has not changed). In theory, iCloud was connected, but now it does not work and does not save backups and cannot be restored from it.
I want to do a full reset.

The question is.
There are a lot of necessary photos in whatsapp in correspondence and I can’t understand if the application is demolished (I mean when resetting the iPhone) and reinstalled, will all conversations with media content be pulled up from whatsapp servers? Where is the chat history stored?

Whatsapp keeps history on the phone. If backup was enabled in Votsap and Votsap backup was enabled in icloud, then it will be saved.
If not, then no.
Do not store photos in messengers, for the future ...
Well, or use those that store correspondence on servers, such as telegrams

whatsapp does not store anything on servers :) only backup - if allowed. And that's just text. All media is stored in the whatsapp folder at the root of the file system, there inside the whatsapp folder is whatsapp is - if this folder is intact, it is better to copy it, it seems that whatsapp then pulls media from it if there is a link to it in the text
