Will the subdomain pull down?

We have a well-promoted site (site.ru), we want to make a subdomain like new.site.ru and launch a completely different project. Will new.site.ru pull down the main site.ru? Maybe there are some pitfalls.

Shouldn't.
For search engines, these are two different sites.
