Will the redesigned design crash when updating Themeforest theme?

Tell me please. I need to redesign a theme I bought from Themeforest.
Question: If this theme needs to be updated in the future, will my layout fail on the pages that I remade? And if it flies, then how to change the pages correctly and how to update the theme then?

Create a child theme and override files in it.

Will fly off. As AXP-dev rightly says , you need to create a child theme and do all the customization in it. If you will be localizing to another language, specify a textdomain for child theme templates that is different from the parent theme.
